AAT Level 1 Award in Bookkeeping

The Level 1 Access to Bookkeeping course is an entry point for students who need additional support to develop their finance skills. This qualification is designed to give students the introductory knowledge and confidence to take on higher level AAT qualifications and to progress in their lives and careers. Studying an AAT short qualification allows students to focus on specific knowledge and skills. Students may wish to move into employment or advance in specialised subject areas such as bookkeeping in order to become a bookkeeping member of AAT and achieve AAT Bookkeeper status (AATQB). This will involve progressing onto and completing the Level 2 Certificate in Accounting. Alternatively, students may wish to complete the AAT Accounting Qualifications to Professional Level, giving them the opportunity to become full members of AAT and achieve AAT Accountant status (MAAT). This Access course is a gateway to the Level 2 Certificate in Accounting.
