Course Summary
In this three-term course, you will cover higher accounting tasks including drafting financial statements, managing budgets, and evaluating financial performance.
Course Details
The five units we study are:
- Applied Management Accounting
- Drafting and interpreting Financial Statements
- Business Accounting Systems and Control
- Business Tax
- Personal Tax
Financial Systems and Controls teaches students to consider the role and responsibilities of the accounting function, including the needs of key stakeholders who use financial reports to make decisions. Students will review accounting systems to identify weaknesses and make recommendations to mitigate identified weaknesses in future operations. Students will apply several analytical methods to evaluate the implications of any changes to operating procedures. Business and Personal tax are our optional units as there is more local demand for them from employers.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
This qualification is assessed by exams at the end of the course.
Entry requirements
Entry to the AAT Level 4 Professional Diploma in Accounting requires successful completion of the AAT Level 3.
Your next steps...
On successful completion, you will achieve professional AAT Accountant status. You can apply for full AAT membership and will be awarded the designatory letters MAAT after your name.
