Course Summary

The AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting is suitable for those looking to acquire the skills needed to move into a career in finance. The course includes a variety of complex accounting tasks, including maintaining cost accounting records and the preparation of reports and returns.

Course Details

There are four compulsory units: Business Awareness; Final Accounting: Preparing Financial Statements; Management Accounting Techniques; and Tax Processes for Business.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

This qualification is assessed by exams sat at the end of the course.

Entry requirements

Although the AAT does not set any prerequisites for the study of the AAT Diploma in Accounting, we strongly recommend that applicants complete the Certificate in Accounting (Level 2) or alternatively have suitable work experience in an accounting or finance role.

We also advise that applicants have obtained GCSE Maths and GCSE English at grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) to allow them to cope with the quantitative skills and technical language that they will encounter throughout the course.

Your next steps...

On successful completion, the qualification can lead to a choice of careers, as well as providing progress onto the AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting, a route to higher education or apply for qualified bookkeeper status and use the designatory letters AATQB after your name.
