Inclusion

Resources

The East Sussex Careers Hub, local schools, the Careers and Enterprise Company, and other networks have produced helpful resources that can be found here.

  • Our Careers Hub Padlet board is updated often with local and national resources related to SEND and inclusion.
  • Our Careers Hub YouTube playlist has many videos to stimulate and encourage careers discussions in schools and colleges.
  • The SEND Gatsby Benchmark Toolkit from the Careers and Enterprise Company is useful for working to deliver the Gatsby Benchmarks for young people with SEND in any setting. You will find lots of practical help in this toolkit.
  • The My Skills My Future programme has been collated from resources across our partners and network to support young people with SEND under the 2 groups identified in the SEND Gatsby Benchmark Toolkit. It contains lessons around employability skills development, employer projects and engagement videos to support young people in their next steps.
  • The Inclusive Careers Health Checklist from Talentino! and the Careers and Enterprise Company will give you an opportunity to review your current SEND careers strategy and highlight areas of achievement and areas for development.
  • An Example Strategic Careers Plan has been shared as an example of practice from the Careers Leader at The Link School, an alternative learning provider working with young learners and their families across the City of Sunderland from KS1 to KS4.
  • Funded places for Careers Leader training courses through the Careers and Enterprise Company will help you improve your understanding of your role and develop the skills required to strategically embed a careers programme.
