The latest East Sussex NEET and participation dashboard pdf for February 2026
Increasing the number of young people participating in education, training or employment with training is a key priority for East Sussex County Council and its partners. Local Authorities have a statutory duty in relation to participation, more details of which can be found on the Government website
We collate and publish monthly dashboards showing participation and NEET data for 16 and 17 year olds (academic years 12 and 13) from December to June, which is when we have the most accurate data set for the 10,000+ cohort

Department for Education (DfE) participation reports
The DfE produces data showing the proportions of 16 and 17 year-olds in education and training and an estimate of those not in education, employment or training (NEET)
Latest update August 2025 showing 16-17 year old NEET and not known (3 month average December 2024, January 2025, February 2025) and 16-17 Participation in March 2025.

School Leavers Destinations Dashboards
These give an overview of leaver destinations throughout year 12, including the number of leavers who became NEET at any time and those whose situation has become unknown to the Local Authority.
They are available for all schools, individually and as a combined county-wide version.
Note: due to the large numbers of records, and delays in the live feed some small anomalies may occur

You can select your school and leaving group from the drop-downs and select the specific date you'd like to see the destinations snapshot on. The data is refreshed at the beginning of each month throughout the year.
