YES - Youth Employability Service

Youth Employability Service (YES) East Sussex is the targeted information, advice and guidance (IAG) service for 16 to 18 year olds (up to 25 if you have an EHCP). Commissioned by East Sussex County Council and delivered by CXK.

Youth Employability Service (YES) East Sussex provides impartial targeted IAG to meet specific and sometimes complex needs of young people, working with some of the most vulnerable and disengaged from young people in the county to break down barriers to participating in learning, training and employment with training.

YES support can include exploring:

  • College options
  • Other training opportunities
  • Apprenticeships
  • Work experience
  • Employment & job searching
  • Completing application forms
  • Practicing interview skills
  • Creating or updating a CV


In order to meet any individual needs you may face, we have specialist Advisers who work closely with education providers and other organisations to provide the best support to all young people we work with.

  • YOT Specialist, working with the Youth Offending Team
  • LAC Specialist, working with the Through Care Team
  • EHCP Specialist, working with the Assessment and Planning Team
  • iSEND Specialist

YES East Sussex will, where appropriate, deliver one to one support over a prolonged period of time.

YES East Sussex can receive referrals from agencies, parents and young people but it will also proactively seek out and engage young people.

YES East Sussex have a Youth Forum and actively encourage young people to become a part of the Service.
